From the little patters of feet that run up and down your newly refurbished upholstery to the rush hour crowds at bus stops, train stops and airports, it is safe to say that our world is in motion. We are constantly moving –we move our mouth to eat, ears itch to ear, our hands reach to grab, feet swift to follow and our entire body shudders, whether by sobs, laughter or hysteria –it shudders!
That’s some incredible amount of activity we go through in this ‘circle of life’. And these activities do produce results; when we eat, food gets into us for nourishment, the ears itch and they ear, hands collect, feet takes us somewhere and the entire body sweats it out!
Interesting but question, do all these activities get us the results we really want out of life? Stephen Covey once said, “Be sure that, as you scramble up the ladder of success, it is leaning against the right building.” Many eat and wish they hadn’t because now they must certainly do something to rid the body of all the fats accumulated from the food. Others itch to hear and then get angry, afraid or confused by the information passing through their ear canals. Ditto for hands and feet –some grab what they can’t hold while others race to their doom.
I ask again; all these activities and busybody tactics –are they working?
Life is filled with examples; Stories of failure and success, what worked and what didn’t. It is only madness to continue to do the same thing and expect a different result. Are you mad? Of course, you are NOT! So here we are, getting smarter already!
What then should you do to achieve the results you want? Mind Your Business. It has been all body talk and body moves. It’s time to put your mind to work! Put your mind on your objectives. Make your goals your eyeglasses –see everything, evaluate everything through your goals. Ask yourself ‘Is this person a plus or minus to my objectives?’ ‘Will this company take me on the career path I have decided for myself?’ ‘Is this the right price for this service or am I being swindled?’ ‘Is this relationship bringing the best out of me?’ ‘What should I be doing now?’ ‘What should I do next?’
It has been said that FOCUS creates blindness. When you set a goal, follow up with the best corresponding action out of the options available to you, keep at it –applying what is needed; facts, finance and faith. Then life will open up to you, the right results will come rushing in. To not believe this, is another waste of mind and matter.
To your health & success!
